Valuable Tips

What time do you need to cook Cracker Barrel Turnip greens in an instant pot?

There are many ways to cook greens, but I have found that high-pressure cooking for about 30-32 minutes yields the best results. The greens are kept in the IP for up to an hour after they slow release. They keep warm and continue to cook in the sense that the pot liquor of meats, onions, seasonings, and greens they have created, remains warm.

What meat are you using for Cracker Barrel Turnip Greens?

I prefer bacon-diced and then sauteed in olive oil until crispy. These greens are Southern-style because of the tiny, salty pieces of smoky bacon. If I have a smoked turkey neck, I like to add it. The turkey neck adds an additional layer of flavor.

What kind of greens are you able to cook?

These ingredients and this method will transform any greens into a Southern-style side dish. I made all of these dishes in my Instant Pot, and they were all fantastic. I cook a lot (we party in the South), and the 8 Quart is plenty.

What instant pot are you using to cook turnip greens in?

I own 8 quarts of Instant Pot (REcommended). I cook a lot (we entertain Southern-style) and the 8 Quart is enough. To make amazing greens, you can use any size Instant Pot. Use the one that is most suitable for you and your family.
