Ingredients
- 36 oz. Famous Dave’s BBQ Sauce, Recommended
- 6 (28 oz.) cans of Bush’s Baked Beans
- 1.5 lb. spicy hot ground pork sausage
- 9 slices of bacon, cut into small pieces
- 8 boneless beef sirloin steaks
- 2 small red onions, diced small
- 3 bell peppers, diced small
- 2 yellow onions, diced small
- 3 jalapeno peppers, diced small
- 3 tsp. smoked paprika
- 3 tsp. Montreal Steak Seasoning, Recommended
Directions
Place the bacon and sausage slices in a large pot. Allow them to heat and become brown as you chop the onions, peppers, and jalapenos. Add these ingredients to bacon and sausage and cook them until the onions become tender and the sausage has broken up and cooked thoroughly.
Incorporate the beans with the seasoning, paprika, and Famous Dave’s BBQ sauce. Reduce the heat to medium to let the bean mixture cook while you cook the steak.
The steak should be seasoned with more seasoning, and then place on a hot grill. The steak will cook in both directions until it is browned with a medium, or medium-rare cooking (don’t overcook, or the steak is likely to dry).
Remove the steaks from the grill and set them aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
The steak can be cut into smaller pieces, and after that, add the meat into the pot.
Incorporate the steak into the beans, and let it simmer for an additional 30 to 45 minutes over a low flame.
The longer you let the beans simmer the more flavorful they will be. You can also place the beans into a crockpot and let them simmer at a low temperature until they are ready for serving.
Don’t be scared to cook a large batch of beans since they taste even better the next day. You’ll want them for a few days at a time. This meal feeds a total of 18 people. You can cut this recipe in half if necessary.
