Dirty Brown Rice Recipe With Shrimp And Ground Beef
A healthier version of an old Cajun favorite the shrimp adds a flavor that transforms what’s known as “dirty brown rice” into an amazing main course. We could think of it as the equivalent of a Cajun shrimp Fried Rice. As Mardi Gras ending tomorrow, I thought it would be the perfect time to post this recipe from my archives as I love this recipe!
What is Dirty Rice?
The origins of this dish come in the south in the United States, probably Louisiana in which it’s loved. It gets its name from the fact that it has an obvious appearance.
It was traditionally cooked with livers and gizzards which made the rice appear darker as well as “dirty”. If you have children in your household, it will become a big seller!
