Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Almond Extract, Recommended
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup DecoPac Sprinkles, Recommended
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Use parchment or silicone to line the sheet pans. Set aside. Sprinkle sprinkles in a bowl of a small size. Set aside.
Make sure to thoroughly mix them in large bowls, the three ingredients. (I employed the electric mixer in order to speed it up but you can also mix them with your hands.) Combine the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
Combine the baking powder, flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl. Combine these dry ingredients into a butter-based mixture. Drop the dough onto the prepared sheets in rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart. Pick each mound of dough and roll it gently into a ball. Then dip it in sprinkles in a bowl. Replace it on the cookie sheet and gently push it down with one hand’s fingers.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the cookies for 7-8 minutes. Don’t overcook the potatoes. You don’t want to bake your cookies for too long if you want them to be soft and chewy. Allow cooling on a wire rack. This recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies.

Directions
Beat the sugar and butter together on medium speed with a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg until the egg is fully incorporated. Reduce the speed to low, and then add sour cream and vanilla. Beat until thoroughly combined, then scraping the bowl using a silicone spatula.
Mix together the cornstarch, flour, baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl. The mixer should be turned down to low, and gradually introduce the dry components to the moist and mix until well-combined. Cover the bowl in plastic wrap and let it sit for one hour.
Heat oven to 375° F.
Two baking sheets are lined with parchment paper, then set them aside.
Take half the dough from the refrigerator. With a 1 tablespoon-sized chunk of dough at each time, roll it into a smooth ball. Place the dough ball on the baking pan you have prepared (spacing approximately 2 inches from each other) and then use the glass’s bottom or the edge on a big spoon for pressing the dough and even smooth.
Cook on the middle rack of the preheated oven for 9-13 mins to bake until they are beginning to get golden around the sides (switching the baking sheet every half hour). Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet after removing them from the oven.
As the cookies cool, they continue to cook. If there is any dough left over, repeat the process.
To make the buttercream frosting, cream the butter in a stand mixer or with an electric mixer. Beat for three minutes until fluffy and light. Add vanilla, salt and then carefully add three cups of sugar, and blend until creamy. Add heavy cream 1 1/2 tablespoon at a moment and then add the remaining powdered sugar until the desired consistency and taste is achieved (you might not require all of it) Continue beating until it is smooth.
After the cookies have completely cooled then frost them, and sprinkles on top If you wish. Set the frosting and then store it in an airtight container.
Notes
Sugar cookies become hard and dry when the cookies are not sealed correctly. As a result, it’s critical to store them in an airtight container.
