Instructions
 

  • In a pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil; remove from heat.
  • Add tea bags to the hot water and let them steep for 4-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the granulated sugar while the tea is still warm.
  • Keep stirring until the sugar completely dissolves.
  • Pour the concentrated tea into a pitcher.
  • Mix in the remaining 8 cups of water with the concentrated tea in the pitcher.
  • Allow the sweet tea to cool to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, pour the sweet tea into glasses that are packed with ice cubes.
  • Garnish each glass with a lemon wedge for a refreshing twist.
