Heat the Oil and Butter:
In a large pan, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter.
Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is hot.
Pop the Kernels:
Add 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels to the pot.
Stir the kernels to coat them evenly with the oil and butter mixture.
Continue to stir occasionally until you hear 2 or 3 kernels pop.
Cover and Pop:
Once a few kernels have popped, cover the pot with a lid.
Let the popcorn pop for about 2-3 minutes, gently shaking the pot occasionally to ensure even popping.
Reduce Heat and Season:
Once the popping slows to about 2-3 seconds between pops, reduce the heat to low.
Carefully remove the lid and add 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, and 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala.
