  • Mix yeast with warm water.
  • Allow it to sit in a quiet place for approximately 10 minutes.
  • There should be small bubbles forming. This indicates that the yeast is active.
  • Mix the oil, eggs, salt, sugar, water, and yeast mixture thoroughly in a large bowl.
  • One cup of flour at a time, stirring thoroughly after each addition.
  • Knead until it is elastic and smooth.
  • Allow rising until doubled, approximately 2 hours.
  • Repeat the kneading process and rise. Punch down.
  • Cut dough into two pieces.
  • Let it rise, and then cover it for 10 minutes.
  • Form into two loaves that are about 14 inches in length.
  • Spread on greased cookie sheets, then cover.
  • It is time to rise again, approximately 60 minutes.
  • Cut a slash in the middle of the bread or three slashes diagonally across the top (Optional).
  • Bake the loaves for 22 to 25 mins until the tops are golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when you tap them at the bottom.
