Low-Sugar Cranberry Orange Bisconie Recipe

Each cranberry-orange Bisconie only has 8 grams of sugar, seriously, that’s it! To put this in context, 8 grams of sugar is less than most flavored Greek yogurt at the store, and just over a quarter of the sugar in the Maple Cream Stick.

Furthermore, the sugar in this recipe is derived from natural sweeteners. Instead of granulated sugar, this recipe uses honey and dried cranberries to provide the desired sweetness. While you’re cooking on the weekend, bake these Cranberry Orange Bisconies, and your mornings will be as simple as a grab and go.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Combine the orange zest, flour, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Using a fork, combine the ingredients.

Using a cheese grater, grate the cold butter. Mix again with a fork in the bowl with the dry ingredients, incorporating the butter into the flour.

Sprinkle the dried cranberries and mix them with the batter.

Place the Bisconie dough on a floured surface and roll it out. Make a circle 9flat) out of the dough.

Cut the dough into 8 slices with a knife or a pizza cutter.

Place the Bisconie on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Put the baking sheet of Bisconie in the fridge for 15 minutes.

After chilling, bake the Bisconie for 18-20 minutes.

Place the Bisconie on a cooling rack to finish cooling (they may get darker on the bottom if you leave them on the pan).
